This $3,000 cash scholarship was established in 2021 to honor the memory of Elizabeth Mary "Lisa" Compton Sallo for female students enrolled in an eligible RN to BSN Program. 

Elizabeth Mary "Lisa" Compton Sallo was a lifelong member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood and supported helping women reach their educational goals.

Education was always important to Lisa and her family. After earning her bachelor's degree, she pursued an advanced management degree and was an admired and respected leader in her profession for many years in the Huntsville area. She mentored many young women both on and off the job and truly believed education was key to a rewarding career. 

Personally, Lisa conquered several health challenges throughout her life. Her appreciation and respect for healthcare professionals was shared with all who knew her. It is certainly fitting that a nursing scholarship used for an advanced degree would be one way to honor Lisa.

This scholarship is funded by family, P.E.O. members and friends of the Elizabeth Mary "Lisa" Compton Sallo Scholarship Program. Chapter AL of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, an international philanthropic educational organization, will administer the scholarship.
